ANZAMP Meeting 2014

The Australian and New Zealand Association of Mathematical Physics (ANZAMP) is a special interest group of AustMS.

In 2014 the ANZAMP annual meeting will be part of the 8th Australia - New Zealand Mathematics Convention, to be held in Melbourne from 8–12 December, 2014.

Update: Calum Robertson from Monash University is the winner of the Guttmann Prize, for an excellent talk entitled “Newtonian limits and the evolution of inhomogeneous universes”.

Update, December 5: A pdf version of the corrected timetable is available here.

Update, December 4: The timetable for the ANZAMP session is now available on the ANZMC8 conference website, here. Note that in the official conference booklet there are mistakes for the ANZAMP (mathematical physics) session. Although the listed time for each talk is correct, the room given is frequently incorrect for talks from Tuesday-Thursday. For correct room information please consult the online timetable, or the corrected timetable which will be handed out as a separate sheet at registration. The full timetable for ANZMC8, which includes all sessions, is available here.

In future years the ANZAMP annual meeting will once again be a stand-alone event. Our past meetings occurred at Lorne (2012), and Mooloolaba (2013).

A. J. Guttmann Prize

This prize ($500) is awarded for the most outstanding talk by a student or recent graduate (PhD completed in the calendar year of the meeting) presented at each ANZAMP meeting. The prize is named in honour of Professor Anthony J. Guttmann, who has been, and continues to be, a leading figure in the mathematical physics community in Australia. Among many distinctions, Tony Guttmann has a distinguished research record in statistical mechanics, was President of the Australian Mathematical Society and was one of the leading figures in the establishment of the Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute. Tony is renowned for the guidance and wisdom he offers to his colleagues and students, and he is a tireless advocate of programs for talented students in mathematical physics, and mathematics more generally.

2012 Elena Tartaglia Logarithmic superconformal minimal models
2013 Inna Lukyanenko Properties of the Bethe Ansatz equations for Richardson-Gaudin models
