Abstract:
In this work, we present an efficient Monte-Carlo (MC) method called stochastic cutoff method for long-range interacting systems. This method enables us to reduce the computational time per MC step from O(N2) to O(N) (or O(N log N)) without any approximation, where N is the number of elements. The efficiency of the method is demonstrated by applying it to magnetic dipolar systems. We also show how this method is combined with other MC methods such as the replica exchange method and the Wang-Landau method.
